Hi guys...
So I'm sitting here in the hostel on the morning of my second official day in Paris. Yesterday we went down to one of our classroom buildings and had meetings all day long about a bunch of different topics. This entire week essentially consists of a week full of meetings on everything we could potentially need to know. We're staying in a hostel that is not that far away from the Sorbonne, but we're on our own for the Metro today. We'll see how that goes... Yesterday we got on two different metro lines, once at 9 AM and then again at 6:30 PM. I've never seen anything so crowded in my life. Each car completely full with people. Very uncomfortable, so it's a good thing I don't actually have any classes near rush-hour when my real classes start. I have afternoon and night classes, which will be great.
I've gotten a lot of requests for pictures, but we've been rushing around in the cold, so it's been somewhat difficult. I'll try to take some good ones today and get them up soon. Still haven't seen any monuments yet, but I'll get some Eiffel Tour pics up for all you Americans ASAP.
Have fun in the warmer weather...

Officially on the ground
So it is after 8 PM here in Paris, and I am pretty much settled into our hotel. I'll have to take pictures tomorrow because it's very modern and very European. I didn't see much of Paris today, but I'm sure that will be remedied soon. I flew in on Icelandair, which was quite interesting. They did not give out any food at all (not even peanuts), but they had good movies and were extremely patriotic. I got lots of fun facts about Iceland in my 8+ hours in the air. After a very slow airport experience, everything worked out alright. All of my bags came, and I am all set to hit the streets tomorrow. I took a long nap today, but of course, I need more sleep.

In transit...
I'm sitting here in Logan Airport in Boston waiting for my international flight to board, so I thought I'd update da blog. Packing was quite an ordeal. I ended up with two 51 pound suitcases and two carry ons, and I'm sure there's stuff I've forgotten. Both my airlines have been super nice to me today and not charged me for the extra weight, so we're off to a good start. I had a quick flight from Atlanta to Boston, and then the lovely Lauren Clapp picked me up at Boston for dinner at the Quincy Market (?). It was delish, and I got some lovely presents from her South Africa winter term, which was also awesome. It's weird to know that I'm in the last place I will be for a while where things are written in English. I get to Paris tomorrow around noon their time (Paris is 6 hours ahead for all of you East coast babies), and I'm not really sure what I have to do once I get to the site.
Stayed tune, and stay out of the snow wherever you are!

Blog numero uno
Hi guys,
This is how I'm planning on keeping most of you updated on my Paris life for the next four months. (Yes, it'll be in English, but maybe I'll drop a little francais in for all your anglophiles...) I'm leaving on Saturday and have, of course, not started packing at all and should be right this second. On Saturday, I'm flying from Atlanta to Boston to Iceland to Paris, so it might be a little while before I can update again. Lots of planes, but probably not lots of internet until I get settled. I'll try to be good with this blog, but who knows... I really don't know how this semester is going to be set up, but I'll try to be good about it.
If you want some more personal communication, send me your Skype name or email me if you're not so savvy.
A demain...
